We have installed SBS 2003 with Exchange and are using the POP3 connector to
retrieve our mail from our existing ISP mail host. I have an employee that
is never in the office and only accesses his mail through the internet.
Since OWA is not cooperating and allowing access to my exchange server he is
still using the ISP webmail, but no one internally can get an email out to
him, they are kicked back not a valid address. Can anyone tell me how I can
get these to actually leave the Exchange server and get to the ISP?

So is he using a completly different email address than what is in use in
your office / Exchange? Are people having trouble sending to any other
outbound SMTP addresses or just this one?

No he is using his same email user@domainname.com but now that we have the
exchange in house...even though he is not on the exchange server it will not
send a message to him outside.

This more than likely is happening since you have your recipient policy set
for your domain and since his mailbox is not on your server when a user who
is on the server tries to send outbound to your domain Exchange is looking
locally for a mailbox and can't find it, hence giving the error of invalid
recipient or address. To keep things clean instead of doing this with
mailboxes here and there I would say you should figure out why OWA is not
working and fix that so all mail will be on your system.
