I have Exchange 2003 SP2 running on the Windows Server 2003 SP1.
C: and D: drives are heavily fragmented. I am thinking of running defrag.exe
util. Exchange is on the D:, while OS is on the C: drive.

1. Can I defragment C: drive (OS)? Will this affect the exchange in any way?
2. Can I defragment D: drive (Exchange)? If Yes do I have to shut down
services? If No, why not?
3. If I leave my drives as they are (ie. fragmented) will it affect the
performance of the Exchange? In other words, should I bother?

NOTE: I'm not talking about about defraging with eseutil, just defrag.exe to
defragment the actual HD space.
