I know there is a setting to set how long to set the recovery time of deleted items. Does anyone know if those held items are sitting in an accessible folder somewhere?
I have an archive and I'm deleting 100's of 1000's emails that I do not want to hold for our set time. I want to just delete them all quickly to get my database size down.
Anybody know?

It is a system policy in Exchange which determines the retention period on a map basis.
Items that are deleted will be stored during that time and are able to be recalled by the dumpster (on the action menu, recover deleted items).

You cannot force deletion from this. You either have to change your policy or wait for the retention time.

And even then your store will not shrink, only after a off line defragmentation.
