I recently upgraded to 2007 from 2003, I moved all of the mailboxes and so forth. I already setup receiving and sending connectors, and while I can receive mail from the outside just fine, I cannot send it (it seems to disappear) nor can I send to other internal users. I've redone my sending connectors several times now, I set it up with the following line:

Quote:
new-SendConnector -Name 'Send connector to Internet' -Usage 'Internet' -AddressSpaces 'smtp:*;1' -DNSRoutingEnabled $true -UseExternalDNSServersEnabled $false -SourceTransportServers 'MAIL2'

Here's my get-sendconnector

Code:
AddressSpaces                : {smtp:*;1}
AuthenticationCredential     :
Comment                      :
ConnectedDomains             : {}
ConnectionInactivityTimeOut  : 00:10:00
DNSRoutingEnabled            : True
DomainSecureEnabled          : False
Enabled                      : True
ForceHELO                    : False
Fqdn                         : mail2.mydomaineditedout.com
HomeMTA                      : Microsoft MTA
HomeMtaServerId              : MAIL2
Identity                     : Send connector to Internet
IgnoreSTARTTLS               : False
IsScopedConnector            : False
IsSmtpConnector              : True
LinkedReceiveConnector       :
MaxMessageSize               : 10MB
Name                         : Send connector to Internet
Port                         : 25
ProtocolLoggingLevel         : None
RequireTLS                   : False
SmartHostAuthMechanism       : None
SmartHosts                   : {}
SmartHostsString             :
SourceIPAddress              : 0.0.0.0
SourceRoutingGroup           : Exchange Routing Group (DWBGZMFD01QNBJR)
SourceTransportServers       : {MAIL2}
UseExternalDNSServersEnabled : False

I have three domain controllers (one is 2003 and is going to be decommissioned soon, the others are 2008) and the exchange sever, I don't have any edge servers or anything like that.

I'm not sure what else step to take, as every site I've come across essentially tells me to setup the sending connector in the exact same way, every time, and it doesn't work.

This is for work, so the sooner this works the better, any help is greatly appreciated! =D

The solution was really simple. In my \etc\hosts file, I had the previous IP address of the mail server listed, instead of it's new one. Everything else was fine, as soon as I fixed that, it worked perfectly.
