We have a single Exchange organization with nine NT 4.0 domains each
with its own Exchange site that share the same DNS domain for mail.
There are no trusts between the nine domains since the only thing they
share is the mail address name.

The first domain to upgrade to Windows 2003/Active Directory and
Exchange 2003 is coming soon and we're wondering what is going to
happen to the current Exchange directory & public folder replication.
I imagine that we might have to create trusts between the NT domains
and the newly upgraded AD domain but we're just not sure what to
expect.

Does anyone have any guidance on what happens to expect and what
Microsoft planning document to consult in this situation?

2) YOUR DOUBTS
Since you're doing a migration by installing a new organization, you can
keep Public Folders synchronized by using the Inter-Organization Replication
Tool:
You'll need the Inter-Organization Replication Tool
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=E7A951D7-1559-4F8F-B400-488B0C52430E&displaylang=en)

"Configuring the InterOrg Replication Tool"
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Configuring-InterOrg-Replication-Tool.html

As for your Exchange Directory, ADC will sync between Exchange 5.5 Dir and
Active Directory.
