Hi,

I've got a weird problem. Our private information store database size hit
the 16GB limit a couple of days ago. I followed the Microsoft article
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=828070) and temporarily increased the
store size to 17GB. I archived some of the problem mailboxes, performed the
online maintenance, and last night performed an offline defrag (eseutil /d).

However, the physical size of priv1.edb has not decreased at all. Has
anyone seen this before?

Thanks in advance,

Allan.

Make sure that the online maintenance has indeed run and completed.

Check the event log again for Event ID 1221. How much does it report?
Check this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/195914 to make sure that
your EDB is the one with the space and that the STM isn't the one
that's optimised now.
Check that your backup run isn't interfering with the maintenance
window (the backup will force a pause in the maintenance to do the
backup and if the backup finishes after the maintenance window you
will end up with a permanently unoptimised store)
