Which inbox are you referring to? The Inbox that was in your Personal
Folder
file? The Inbox on the Exchange mailbox? Have you synchronized the offline
folders yet?

thank you for being so helpful,
i have configured outlook to work offline but there is nothing in my
personal folders, is there a way to get the mail from my inbox into the
offline personal folders?

The settings are part of the properties for the Exchange Server
service,
which you can modify in Tools | Services in Outlook 2000.

i have been working with the outlook 2000 on my server box for awhile
and
just don/t know how to make it offline mode.

An offline folders file maintains a local cache of data on the
user's
hard
drive. In Outlook 2000 (but not Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange
mode),
the
user must restart Outlook to switch from online to offline
operation.

Again, I think you'll learn all you want to know about it if you'll
just
try
it yourself.

offline , how can the user access their mail and send mail that
stays
in
que
till the server comes back on?

i will gladly read on .ost files and offline if you have a link as
well.

The basic profile for an Exchange environment should include only
the
Exchange Server and Outlook Address Book services.
