In a small environment you can just use the SMTP virtual server to send
messages, but when you have more than one server it is nice to control which
server or how the servers are sending out of the org. The connector gives
you a central; place to edit the properties of the outgoing connector
without having to change the SMTP virtual server on each Exchange server.
