Hi all,

Situation I have is as follows....
High end server with sbs2003 standard (migrated from sbs 4.5), along with
Exchange 2003 standard. We use a dlink di-304 ISDN router for internet
connection. In the server are two NICs, ip's are 10.0.0.2 for the LAN and
192.168.0.2 for the router side. The router is addressed at 192.168.0.254.
Exchange has been configured with correct ISP details and all services start
without any event errors or warnings, but I am unable to de-queue from the
ISP. I have tried to telnet to port 25 from outside the lan which fails,
however internally telnet works fine. Internet access is ok as are external
Pings. As it is standard SBS, ISA is not installed and I have re-run the
internet connection wizard to disable the firewall all to no avail.
Internally I can ping both IP ranges without any bother, I can also connect
to each mailbox and read all users mail, I now have no idea what to do next
and would really appreciate some help.

Many thanks

Paul

You mention dequeue - do you mean your ISP is using ETRN/etc? If so, your
inability to telnet to your Exchange server on port 25 from the Internet
doesn't matter. You're pulling the mail down, not receiving it directly. As
long as you aren't blocking outbound ports you should be able to do whatever
you want if it originates inside your network.

What happens when you try to dequeue? What are your settings, and what have
you tried?

Note that you might get more help in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs. I
personally don't like multihomed DCs even when ISA is in use on a network
(just my view) but there could be something in your SBS setup that's gone
wacky.
