can not send e-mail from outlook via vpn connection |
|
|
hi,
we use exchange on Small business server 2003. When I am connected with my
laptop via vpn (pppt), synchronisation with the exchange server- receiving
e-mail works properly.
The synchronisation with the outgoing mailbox does not work.
Any idea?

Hi,
When you say that the synchronization does not work with the outgoing
mailbox.... Do you mean
the mails go not go out of the OUTBOX into the Sent Items Folder within the
Exchange (Mailbox) environment
or, You have an additional pop/imap account other than your exchange
(mailbox) environment... and mails do not go from that account?
Kind Regards,
Andy. |

hi andy,
no pop3- but I have tested it with POP3- works fine. My problem is the
OUTBOX, mails do not go out (into the sentbox). DNS is ok.
kind regards

Hi Gambetti,
Can you check the following:
Is it only one particular account that is the problem or all the
accounts?
Do you get any errors in the event log in the Application Folder?
Are you getting emails in that exchange environment?
What the the counters in your exchange queue?
Kind Regards,
Andy. |

Pardon my jumping in - does this work in Outlook in the office? If so,
what's your default account in Outlook?
If your Exchange server isn't handling Internet mail (i.e., you use POP in
Outlook at
work), and you have DNS problems, you can't use your home Outlook to send
Internet mail (or OWA,
either) unless you configure Outlook to use the same POP account in addition
to the Exchange mailbox, with the same config you use at work.
