Strange Event Log Error |
|
|
All - I have a new install of Ex2003 on a Win2003 SP1 server. One Forest and
one domain. The domain consists of two sites and each site has at leat one
DC/GC in it. Replication in this topology is working great and no Win2003
domain errors are deing reported.
My exchange looks the same. In the ExAdmin, I have one administratove group
and then two Exchange 2003 servers in that group. Everything seems to work
fine. Mail goes both direct and each server is responsible for outbout
email. Here's teh event that I get in my log on restarts and ocosionally
thoughout a week.:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event Category: Routing Engine/Service
Event ID: 951
Date: 12/31/2004
Time: 2:37:32 PM
User: N/A
Computer: HQMAIL
Description:
When sending mail to following address airmail.nbaa.org, we have found the
connector with target domain * matching destination address exists in DS.
However, we have no way of getting there. Possibly, you need to check your
topology and add appropriate connectors among Routing Groups.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
There seems to be a space between "found the AND connector" as well as
"destination address AND exists"
Any help would be great.

I would start with DNS. Are both servers using the same servers and
method to resolve external hosts? Are DNS servers defined in the
advanced properties of the VS? Is this is a single routing group?

Re: Strange Event Log Error |

I think I might have resolved the problem. Once I reapplied SP1 for Exchange
the problem went away. In answer to your questions though.... The servers
point to the same dns active directory integrated. The two servers span a
PIX firewall, with the PIX doing the translates for each subnet. There is a
single routing group with each server(member) listed.
Thanks,
Brian
