Outlook Logon |
|
|
I have recently installed Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Pro workstations. Every
time I open Outlook, I am prompted for a password for the user for the Domain
Controller and another time for the Exchange server. When Outlook is opened,
it is always offline. Is there a setting I am missing? Any feedback on
this problem would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

Are the XP Pro workstations joined to the domain where Exchange lives (or a
domain with a trust to that domain), and are the users logging into the
domain? They should be - don't use local accounts.
Can you ping the Exchange server by name? Are other server/domain functions
working on the workstations? |

Thank you for your reply.
The workstations are joined to the domain where the Exchange server lives.
The users are logging onto the domain. You can ping the Exchange server by
name. Users can go into Network Neighborhood and browse the network.

Are you using cached mode?
Have you modified the security from the defaults in Outlook (advanced
properties of Exchange server) which are set to pass along the domain login
credentials?
