Hello,
We have installed Exchange 2003 2 nodes cluster at Windows 2003 Ent server,
and I need to configure access through OWA and HTTPS to it without any
front-end server.

Ideas??

Thank you
Petr Komenda

I have one, but you may not like it. If you can afford and understand the
need for clustering, then buy a front end server :) Why put your cluster at
risk or attack? Why expose it?

Other then getting a real F/E, it is supposed to work against the cluster,
but I have not tested it and never will.

Cheers,

Rod

I am with Rod on this one. It is never a good idea to expose your Exchange
server database servers to the Internet.

Get a cheap server like a Proliant DL 320.

Problem is with the 1000 exchanges per org limit(did you hear about it), we
are allowed to install only one exchange server.

Server is not rpoblem, we have another two CPQ Proliants 530 and one FSC
RX600.

We do plan firewall with RSA authentication, the problem is that we need
HTTPS even for intranet OWA users

We know it is not good idea, but we need another thousand of users to get
permission for another exchange

If Microsoft say somewhere that there may be a problem, we would not buy a
cluster...

I am not sure I understand what you have written. Are you saying that you
can only have 1000 users on the cluster? Or via the FE? Please explain.

Cheers,

Rod

We use RPC/HTTPS internal, no issues.

I am confused by your statement concerning permissions. Can you explain in
detail?

Rod

I think he is getting confused with the 1000 server limited per Exchange
org.

I am not getting confused.

I meant the limit of 1000 servers in organization.
