Hi, I have an Exchange 2000 SP3 on Windows 2000 SP4, this cluster is dead
now, I have reinstalled the OS and used WIn2K3 and Ex2K3 SP1 and used the
disaster recovery for the reinstallation, unmounted the new databases and
restored the old offline backup which was taken when the old E2K cluster was
a live to the same location as it was before, the thing is that the restored
databases are not mounting and it is giving an error message ID no:c1041724
and in the Application Event Viewer I can see the following errors: 9518,
454, 9175. Does this mean that the Exchange 2000 database version is
incompatible with Ex2K3? How can I fix this? Thanks.

You can't use the disaster recovery switch with Exchange 2003 (SP1 or not).
With Exchange 2000 you could use it, but it simple did not work.

I am not sure or ever heard of anyone trying to mount an Exchange 2000 DB on
2003. You could mount a normal pristine 2003 DB's, build a new Exchange 2000
(on spare hardware), mount the DB on 2000, move mailboxes to 2003.

Or you could simple call PSS and try to make 2003 mount the 2000 DBs.

Cheers,

Rod

Hi, I have checked the database integrity using the ESEUTIL /g and it showed
me that the database was " clean" so I used the KB274534 to recreate the
system mailbox and mount the database without any glitch.

PS: I did not use the DR switch for the recovery but I reinstalled the
cluster as usual and I pulled the settings from AD.
