I have a 2-node Exchange 2003 cluster currently runing on server 2000. I
want to upgrade the OS to 2003. I've looked at a rolling upgrade and a clean
install - I'd rather do an upgrade. Any gotcha's I should be aware of? My
domain is 2003 and my front end boxes are 2003.

Be sure you apply KB.831464 (Windows 2003 hotfix for IIS compression -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831464) after you upgrade to Windows 2003.
Other than that it should be fairly straight-forward along the Windows
rolling-upgrade documentation.

Evan...don't you recommend using the"Clean Upgrade" Method described at
http://blogs.msdn.com/exchange/archive/2004/05/07/127968.aspx ?

Jamelia -

The "clean upgrade" method specified in the blog (and in KB.842427 -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842427) would work just fine, of course, but
I don't generally recommend it unless the specific upgrade scenario calls
for it. This alternate upgrade method is made available so that if you want
to end up with a clean-installed OS rather than an upgraded OS, you can
accomplish it in a supported manner. I've never had a problem with OS
rolling-upgrade, and I find it a bit easier if one of the design goals isn't
a fresh install of the server OS. In dwright's initial question, it was
specified that Upgrade was preferred.
