Hi,
I am able to connect to my mobile page on exchange using
http://servername:8080/oma. I get prompter for the username and password but
when I try to connect it takes a while and then show this message

server off-line (Unable to connect to your mailbox on server SERVERNAME

Please try again

later. If the problem persists contact your administrator)

This happens on both my phone and WAP Gateway Simulator. Any ideas? I
alreadu have exchange SP1 installed.

Thanks

OMA is hardcoded to use Port 80 to connect to the Exchange virtual directory
to retrieve the information used by OMA.

Hi,
Are you saying that even if I change OWA to use 8080 OMA will still listen
at 80?

Not exactly

When you access OMA, regardless of the port that is defined in IIS, OMA will
then programmatically make a HTTP Port 80 request to the Exchange directory
on the mailbox server that is attempting to log in to get that users mailbox
items.

So if you change the Http port on your server to something other than 80,
OMA will break because of this programmatic call to port 80.

OMA will still be listening on 8080, but will NOT be able to access the
users mailbox on 80

Hi,
How can I fix this? I don't want OWA to be accessed at port 80 that's why I
used 8080. Can I set OWA to use 8080 and OMA to use 80? If so, how do I do
that?

Thanks

Unfortunately there is no way to do this, unless you use a Front End and a
Back End Server.
You can set your Front End to respond to port 8080, then OMA will connect to
your Back End over 80.

817379 Exchange ActiveSync and Outlook Mobile Access errors occur when SSL
or
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=817379
does speak to this issue indirectly
"The Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync and Outlook Mobile Access virtual
directories only try to connect with the Exchange virtual directory over TCP
port 80 (HTTP), not over TCP Port 443 (HTTPS)."

If you have security concerns you should look into a Server Certificate and
then you would need to follow the steps in the above article.
