Store.exe question.. |
|
|
I am running Exchange Server 5.5 on a W2K Server and am having an unusual
occurrence with the store.exe service. It seems that at 4:30am everyday,
something happens and the store.exe "livens" up taking 100% of the CPU power
until the service is manually stopped and re-started.
After this, the CPU drops down to the standard 3 - 5% until 4:30am the next
morning and the problem begins all over again.
The time of 4:30am doesn't seem to be relevant to any other things happening
on the server (backups, scans, etc)... anybody have any ideas what could be
causing this?
Thanks in advance,
Ian

Hi Ian,
Since it seems to happen like clockwork, I would have to suspect something
gets kicked off during that time. Are we sure no other process starts up?
Maybe a background scan by your Exchange-aware AV?
If you feel the need to get to the bottom of this, I would suggest opening
up a PSS case with us so that we can generate a couple of user.dmp files of
the store process (along with a perflog) while the 100% CPU condition occurs
and we'll be able to tell you what's happening during that time.
Hope this helps!

Eric,
Thanks for the info... do you have any other info on how to open up a PSS
case? Ie. who to call? How much does it cost?, ect.
Any other ideas on how to track down what service could be triggering this?
Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian,
Go to www.support.microsoft.com and look under Microsoft Services section
for Support Services. This will provide additional links to the appropriate
support you require. Likely you would need support as an IT professional,
here's the direct link:

Cheers!
