Re: Routing Groups Help Urgent!! |

Do you really need a routing group?
A routing group is used to control traffic patterns at the application level
between Exchange servers. If you don't need one, then why bother?
The Exchange servers know how to route to your recipients within the ORG
anyway.
That said, you may want to have a look at this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822929
This time of year, it might pay to go on-site and configure this from the
Caribbean side though ;)

Goal
I am moving to an environment where I would have three Exchange 2003
servers
(2 back end and one front end) in the same organisation running in native
mode. One backend located in the Caribbean the other backend and front
end
located in Canada. To faciliate message flow I would like to make use of
two Routing Groups on the Front end server in Canada. All messages sent to
users in Toronto will be routed to the Storage group in Toronto while
users
in Caribbean will receive messages within the storage group in Caribbean.
Could someone explain how/ what needs to be done in order for me to
configure the Routing groups correctly. Is a guide available.
What type of connector would I need to use in this configuration.
How is Exchange configured to obtain a single organisation but with
multiple
sites?
I tried creating a second routing group on the server in Canada. When I
tried implementing the Routing group connector, I got the error "You have
to
configure at least one SMTP VSI in this environment"
Am I doing something wrong - please help...
Regards
