True. That's partially the point behind having a single namespace/url for
clients to access regardless of where their mailboxes reside in the Org.
Without FE/BE, an Exchange server will redirect you to your mailbox server.
With FE/BE, a FE server will act on behalf of the backend mailbox servers
and pass traffic to and fro.

Is OWA smart enough to query the DC and know where a person lives on what

b. test user2 on exchange back-end 02
If I OWA to a single FQDN to unify namespace with test user1 and he lives
on
Exchange 01 is all well?
If I OWA using testuser 2 and he lives on exchange 02, is all well?
