I currently run E2K on Server 2000 ( soon to be upgraded to Exch 2003 and
Server 2003) in one domain and have another domain, in a separate forest to
which I want to add another new Exch server 2003 for its users (500 students).
I want to bring the 2nd domain under the first as a child domain. First
domain is for our 180 faculty and 2nd (child) domain is for our students.
When both servers are installed I need faculty and students to see each
others' addresses in a global address list, but still have both Exch servers
isolated on their own private vlan for additional security.

Any ideas for:
1. an easier implementation whereby both faculty and students can have exch
accounts without 2 servers. Security for faculty is important.
2. or suggestions on how to accomplish the 2 server scenario, above, in the
easiest and most secure manner?

Thanks!

Phil,

You state that you have another domain in a seperate forest that you want to
add Exchange to and then bring the 2nd domain under the first as a child
domain. If they are in seperate forests, what are your plans for doing this
? Why do you want to isolate the Exchange servers ? You state that security
is important for faculty, what are you trying to secure against as security
is a large area ?
