Exchange 2003 upgrade to SP1 and SP2 |
|
|
I am planning on upgrading my current Exchange 2003 to SP1 and SP2. My
current enviroment consist of a Front End server, 2 Standard Exchange local
servers and one Remote Exchange server.
I know that I need to upgrade the FE server first, and then Back End servers
and here are my questions:
While I am doing the FE server upgrade, do I need to stop the BE servers ??
Can I leave the remote server with no SP1 for a week??
Would this remote system get affected while the rest of servers are with SP1
and SP2 ???
Once the local servers are on SP1 and working fine, Can I go ahead and
upgrade to SP2 on the same day ???
My Thanks in advance for comments and advise.

No. Not typically.

Why are you applying SP1 first? Service packs are cumulative. Go with
SP2.
well, except maybe look at this as well:

"Users receive a "Loading" message when they use OWA to access their
mailbox after they apply a hotfix or a service pack to Exchange Server
2003"
