Hi All,

I am trying to remove a Public folder Store that I have created (now have
2) and I cannot do it becuase of the following error:-

"You cannot delete this public folder store because it contains
folder replica(s)."

I have read up and other people are having exactly the same problem:-

http://www.exchangeserverhelp.com/ftopic25132.html

Has anyone come accross this?

Thanks kindly.

David

I'm experiencing the same problem. I also have come across posts from others
experiencing it too, but I can't seem to locate a "fix" for this. If you
find one, please post. I'll do the same.

Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know if Microsoft are looking at this problem?

I followed up directly with Richard Wilkomm, who had posted previously about
experiencing the same problem. His reply follows (posted with his
permission). Richard's advice seems to have worked for me...

===== Begin e-mail from Richard =====
I did actually managed to delete the public store. Let me see if I can recall.

On the Public Store object in Exchange System manager, I could see 4 folder
instances remaining. But you cannot delete the folders at this level. And a
client cannot see the folders either since they are system folders. And they
also wouldn't go away with the move all replicas command (right click) since
they weren't actually replicas, they originated from this store itself.

But in the Exchange system manager when you open up the Public Folder tree
at the bottom, you can right click and see the System folders. And you can
also delete folders there. And that's where I thought saw the 4 folders that
where bothering me. Two of them were subfolders from one of the other.

1) OWAScratchPad{<long number>}
2) StoreEvents{<same long number>}
Subfolder1) globalevents
Subfolder2) internal

But the number was different from what I saw on the store object instances.
These folders were actually similar folders from a Public Store that I wanted
to keep. I knew I didn't want to get rid of these, that would mess things up
for sure.
When you right click the Public Folder tree, you can also use Connect to...
and connect to a different Public Store. I entered the storename here that I
wanted to get rid of. Once again it displayed the system folders, but this
time only 4 of them and the numbers were correct this time. I now was sure
these were my 4 folders so I could delete them.

When I switched back to the store object, the instances were gone and I
could delete the entire store.

At the time my Exchange environment was still non-production so I could take
a bit of a risk. But you have to be absolutely sure you've got the right 4
folders if you're in production. With multiple Public Store's you get a lot
of folders with the same name. And if you want to remove each Public Store
you have to repeat the proces and connect to each store one at a time to get
it clean.

Best of luck and let me know if it worked.

Greetings
Richard
