We're running Exchange 2003 and BES 3.6. Is there a way to wirelessly
import and synch Exchange's GAL with BES 3.6?

Thanks,

Javier

BES can lookup the GAL just like OWA, but there's no way to "browse" the
GAL. BES itself doesn't store any addresses/address lists.

So in other words I can't have a BlackBerry user browse or search the
GAL via thier BlackBerry and BES?

Correct, doesn't change even with BES 4.x (but there are a lot of other
benefits to upgrading, like Enterprise Activation (over-the-air) and no need
for client sw.

Not a very pleasant one... create a Contacts public folder and add Contacts
for all recipients (not Contacts in AD.. ).
Have users copy all Contacts from PF to their Contacts folder in
Outlook/Exchange mailbox.
These will synch next time user connects/docks the handheld.

Like I said, not pleasant... :)

The other alternative would be to switch to Windows Mobile 5.0 handhelds
with Exchange Server 2003 SP2 on server-side. Not something management would
want to hear after a BES deployment.
