Exchange SP2 not recommended ? Also Win 2003 R2 supported? |

I notice that the recomendations for Exchange 2003 are still SP1 ..

why is this?
In a new install of hardware for Exchange .. would you install Windows 2003
SP1 or Windows 2003 R2 ?
Are there any replication enhancments that R2 can bring to the exchange
envoirnment?

Thanks for the straight answers
I see that Exhange 12 beta has been released.
Do you think that *finaly* we may get a mirror server solution that does not
rely on clusters over well connected (fibre) links?
It would be great to have two info store servers in seperate locations that
mirror each other.. if one goes down then outlook will point to the other.

Rory,
Look at using CA Brightstor High Availability for mirrororing / online
server hot spare. One of my clients is using it and is very happy with it.
It is also relatively affordable, and certainly less costly than a second
E2K3 license.

maybe Microsoft won't charge us for the hot spare! ( do the terms hell and
freezing come to mind )
Before we get into the licencing though I'm interested in whether they have
finally have fixed this glaring ommision ( domino had it 10 years ago )
