Adding an Second SMTP addy to all users in the GAL |
|
|
Hello all,
I have been tasked with adding a 2nd SMTP addy to all users in my Exchange
5.5 server. The 2nd addy will be the same as the first except for the domain
name.
Example: jsmith@123.com ----existing addy
jsmith@ABC.com ----2nd (non responding) addy.
I know this is a simple process but cant seem to find the proper tool/script
to automate it in a timley fashion. I have about 1500 addresses so the "by
hand" method is not really an option.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated....
Thanks in advance!
Shawn

Just add the new proxy to the Recipient Policy assuming you are running
Exchange 200X. The article below shows you the steps.

I just noticed that you said you are using 5.5:)
Try looking through this article it is simular to what you need to do, the
process may be a little different, but it tells you where the settings are.
You should consider going to 2003:)

TRUST ME I'm working on it---Have to go to 2000 and AD first...uuhg. (NT
domain)
That might work better then the export/import I was considering....
I'm open to additional suggestions also.

Its not as bad as it seems, just research it. Most people end up doing an
inplace upgrade for single domains. Hopefully you like your netbios name.
