Hi.. we are a small company of 6 users who would like to install Outlook to use only the calendar function to share with each other.. Out mail is hosted externally and we would like it to remain this way. we are not interested in going over to exchange server to use email .. we have a 2003 domain\network.. do we still have to go thru the standard installation procedure for Exchange including forest\domainprep etc etc as this was done when setting up the domain 3 years ago ? Many thanks in advance for all answers.. we have licenses for exchange 2003 and 2007 but sounds like 2007 requires some pretty heavy duty hardware and we thought we would use a bog standard server.. do we still have to make it a DC ? or can it just be a member server

Why not switch over to another program that is able to share a calander?
Outlook is far to big for this small use.

Many thanks for the responses and we have fixed it with a simple IIS server on 2003 server and shared out calendars.. it updates every 1 hour and cannot be changed but its free so i wont complain

Not quite sure what u mean when u say its 'BIG' but we use the mail to connect to our POP and Contacts and Calendar and tasks just like Exchange users would no doubt !!
