OWA and Reply's |
|
|
We have just setup EXCHANGE 2003 on a Windows 2003 Server. The OWA works but,
we have issues with REPLY's to messages. When a REPLY is attempted, the
display changes to a 404 error. Does anybody know if this is an EXCHANGE or
IIS issue?

There are several possiblilties here. If URLSCAN or the Lockdown tool have
been installed then I would look here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325864#5
Troubleshoot Problems After You Run the IIS Lockdown Wizard
Or you can refer to this article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312376
Modify the Default URLScan Configuration File
But on my OWA system, any email with a : or special character failed to
display, and gave me a Page Not Found (404) error
In the virtual directory for exchange, a configuration for wildcard
configuration mapping was set incorrectly. The davex.dll executable was
incorrectly set with the checkbox "verify that file exists" After clearing
that check box, the problem went away. Do this for all the Exchange virtual
directories.

Bill,
Thanks but, it turns out that the mistake was on our end. We tryed to change
the alias from DOMAINNAME.COM/EXCHANGE to just DOMAINNAME.COM. This caused
the next page 404 issue when we attempted any reply's. Thanks for info, it
always help.
