can't fwd to Internet email using Rules Wizard |
|
|
Hi,
I'm sorry if this has been brought up before.
I'm not able to forward my incoming emails to any internet email using
Outlook 2000 SR-1. There's no blocking AFAIK.
If I forwarded the email manually (click Forward, type in the internet
email), the recipient can receive the emails.
However, if I automate it using Rules Wizard, the recipient doesn't receive
my email. There's no error message returned to me, btw.
I'm the Exchange (5.5 SP3) Admin here, so where do I start t/shooting?
THANKS.

Create a contact in Outlook or a Custom recipient on exchange and then point
the rule to the contact.

Open the ESM snap-in
Go to: Global Settings>Internet Message Format
In the right pane choose Default and click properties (you may have
something other than Default, but I doubt it)
Select the ADVANCE tab. Look at the bottom and select the items you want to
allow. |

Sorry, I missed the 5.5 part.
I have no idea in 5.5.
I did some searching, as I'm sure you have, and came up with nothing.
Good luck |

Re: can't fwd to Internet email using Rules Wizard |

Basically I need to forward BOTH incoming & outgoing emails of 1 employee
(say: John) to my boss external email address.
Things that I have tried:
- We have Mail Journal here which receives all INCOMING & OUTGOING emails
from all users.
Hence, we created a rule under Outlook to forward any emails from John to
myboss@external-email.com.
I can see the sent emails in Sent Items, but my boss didn't receive them.
- Created a Contact in Outlook and use that contact in the rule -> same
result as above
- Created a Custom Recipient in Exchange and use it in the rule -> same
result as above
- Created a Distribution List in Exchange and put a Custom Recipient as a
member, use distribution list in the rule -> sama result as above
Any inputs/pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Solution: Re: can't fwd to Internet email using Rules Wizard |

At last I found why I can't AutoFwd to any internet email.
In the Exchange Internet Mail Service properties -> Internet Mail tab ->
Advanced Options.
Untick "Disable Automatic Replies to Internet"
