Hi Everyone,
I saw many articles on this, but none of the answer solved my problem. We
bought a brand new Dell workstation with Office 2003 Standard edition. We
applied all updates available. No other Office version was installed on this
computer. When we set Word as the email editor, we have an error when
replying or forwarding an email. The error is : "Microsoft word is set to be
your e-mail editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not
the same version as outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor will be used
instead." If we start Word independantly, it works well. If we start a new
message, it works too.

Does anyone have an idea about this issue? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dominic

Try a detect & repair of Office or a reinstall repair. Then make sure you
patch Office 2003 to SP1.

Note: if you aren't using Exchange server, you should post Outlook questions
to microsoft.public.outlook.

Try installing Office 2003 as the local adminstrator and not domain
administrator.

As an aside, you may have to contact Dell regarding the uninstall/reinstall
procedure. Sometimes the OEM systems will only allow you to reimage your
machine and not uninstall and reinstall a piece of pre-installed software.
