adding users via csvde |

Hi all,
I am setting up a test environment for a migration from NT 4.0.
What I have so far is the following:
Server 2003 Standard acting as a DC/DHCP/DNS server.
Server 2003 Standard as a member server with Exchange 2003 Enterprise
loaded.
When I add a user at the DC (aka rabbit), I am not asked for email
information, and there is no email tab in the user properties.
When I look at the same user in the exchange server (pointing to the same
active directory), I see the exchange tab,etc...
Shouldn't I see the exchange tab in the DC as well? Or did my Exchange
installation barf somewhere and not create it correctly?
This is coming into play because I want to add a bunch of users using csvdw,
and the exchange info needs to be imported as well.

Dear confused in NY,
This is expected behavior. You will only see the Exchange
administration tabs on hosts that have the ESM dll's installed on them.
I.E. the hosts that you ran Exchange setup on. Rest assured, if you can see
them from the Exchange server, they are there. You just don't have the
software to see them.
CSVDE doesn't care about the Exchange admin tools. It only needs to have
the target attributes in the schema to populate them.

Al,
Thanks for clearing that up for me...I thought I was going nutsy...
Is there a way for me to see that info on the DC? What do I need to
install? That way I can see everything in one place.
Have a new question regarding the email addresses, but will start a new
thread...

Normally, you would install the Exchange Admin tools via a custom install.
Why bother though. If you're on the DC, just remote to the Exchange server
and do it from there and save the headache.
