I have a strange problem....but first, my setup:

I have an Exchange 2003 Frontend server and a Backend server. I am in the
process of migrating from Lotus Notes so I also have an Exchange server used
for the Notes Connector.

The problem is with SMTP, which is on the frontend server. Most of my apps
that use SMTP to send out notifications are working fine. However, there are
two exceptions:

1. Our What's Up Gold machine sends out notifications but it only works
every now and then. It says that it was sent, but we never receive it.

2. Our Peoplesoft program sends out HR notifications through SMTP. When it
used the Lotus Notes SMTP, it was instantaneous. Now through Exchange SMTP,
it either hangs in process or takes 5-7 minutes to process through.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you using any smarthosting or anything on the FE.

Do you get the same problem if you point the applications to drop
messages at the BE?

I'm not using any smarthosting and I didn't think about using the BE. I'll
try that and see what happens.
