Do the sample export (csvde -f filename.csv) and you will see for yourself.

CSVDE can be used to import and export between AD and a comma separated
value file. Exporting is simple and useful, importing to AD is only done to
create new objects.
I am not aware that CSVDE can import to an individual user's contacts
folder. When we upgraded to Exchange 2000 we provided our users with
instructions for importing the content of their personal address books into
their contacts folder. I think this is more what the OP is looking for.
Anyway, using an Outlook client (ours is outlook 2002, not sure about
others), you can import a .csv file this way:
File
Import and Export ...
Import from another program or file
select format from drop-down list, either "comma separated values (DOS)",
"comma separated values (Windows)", or "Microsoft excel", or "Personal
Address Book", or "Personal Folder file (.PST)", or "tap separated values
(DOS)", "tab separated values (Windows)".

Thanks Al. That is more than I wanted to know in my OP, but that is some
useful information to know. Thank you for sharing it.

You are right, but he said he needs a way to import _something_ (no matter
what) from a CSV file to AD, Whatever information it is, if you need it in
AD and there are attributes allowing you to store it, it can be done with
csvde, right?
As for the Contacts, normally they are stored in a user's mailbox and not in
the AD at all...

Oops, my bad. I read it to mean import a csv into Contacts, not import
contacts from a csv into AD.
