Connecting Exchange to MDaemon |
|
|
I need to give the boss access to his email on Exchange - it's a long and
sad story. Company email currently lives on another server running MDaemon.
I'm not finding a "Getting Started" guide that spells out how to move email
between different emailboxes on different servers. What is needed to make
this work?

Re: Connecting Exchange to MDaemon |

I'm sorry to say that what was bedeviling me turned out to be a DNS problem.
I have created entries for exchange.domain.com. I have set up an SMTP
gateway from Exchange to MDaemon, so it sends out through MDaemon. I have
MDaemon forward all mail to Exchange. I connected the clients to Exchange,
using firstInitalLastname@exchange.domain.com (there's a way to default to
this, using AD, isn't there?), with a reply to of
firstInitialLastname@domain.com. That took care of most of it. Then I had to
figure out how to move users from NetFolders to delegation. Eventually, we
will probably retire MDaemon, or partition our email between those who only
need mail and those who need Exchange features. At that point, I'm not sure
what my next steps will be.
