I am in the process of planning an inter forest migration from Windows 2000
with Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. I am pretty sure that
the Microsoft ADMT will handle 90% of my migration needs. ( Along with the
Printer Migration and File Migration Tools)

Here is the part that I do not get.

My workstations are running Windows 2000 Pro and MS Office 2000. How do I
get the Outlook profiles to look at the new MS Exchange 2003 server instead
of the server name that comes over in the migrated user profile after using
ADMT 2.0.?

Should I try to make the change to the user profile using Group Policy or a
3rd party tool?

I have 500 workstations and really do not want to have to modify the Outlook
profiles manually. I also do not want to have to use an expensive 3rd party
tool after the free Microsoft tools have gotten me so close.

Any suggestions?

If you're planning to maintain the existing Exchange organization (as
opposed to creating a new one) then you basically have two scenarios.

1. If you don't change the Site/Admin Group then the clients should
automatically detect the change using directory information. In this case
you don't need to touch the client profile.
2. If the Site/Admin Group changes then you will need to update the client
profiles. ExProfRe can help with this. See
