Outlook connection range |
|
|
Exchange Server 2003 Standard on Windows Server 2003 Standard DC. Latest
services packs and patches on both.
ExBPA is reporting "Outlook connection range; All versions of Outlook are
allowed to access server..."
Following the advice and instructions of the linked article as well as other
KB articles, I created the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem]
"Diable MAPI Clients"="-9.0.0"
The server was later restarted.
ExBPA still reports the same error.
Tinkering with it today, I modified the key as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem]
"Diable MAPI Clients"="0.0.0-5.3164.0"
I stopped and started the information store.
ExBPA still reports the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tim C

Hi Tim,
ExBPA just looks for the existence of the reg param, it doesn't check the
value. From what you have below, it looks as if there's a typo in the word
"Disable" ...do you want to check that on your server?
Also, the Exchange System Attendant process logs into the store as version
6.x so you need to make sure that you don't disable that version otherwise
functions such as move mailbox will stop working. We're in the process of
getting this article updated to warn about the version 6 exclusion.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Paul. I must have looked for a typo 10 times, and never saw it.
