Exchange 2000 Retention Policy |
|
|
Header: Cross posting here along with Administration, I feel the question is
both administration and design based. Thanks!
Hi all,
My retention policy is not functioning 100%. It will delete most messages,
but not all. Some users report many messages retained older than 180 days
old. My recipient policy is set on high priotiy and always running. I can't
for the life of my figure out what is causing this. Just looking for ideas
here.
Note - all of these users accept default retention policy as well, already
check that.
This is Ex2000 Enterprise, running the latest and greatest.
Thanks,
Joshua

Message age is not only submit date, but modification date. If the user
changes the message (or moves it to another folder) than the last
modification time is newer than the submit date then the message is skipped.
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=289122 explains it for 5.5 but the
methodology remains the same in 200x.
