Hello,
my thoughts inline...

We are currently 'whiteboarding' what a migration would look like for our
setup.
We currently have a single Exchange Org with 8 Exch 5.5 sites. Approx
each
Exch 5.5 site is an NT4.0 domain (all domains are 2-way trust mesh). We
are
looking at consolidating to one domain in one datacenter site.
We're looking at performing an upgrade of the main a/c's NT4 domain and
perform an intra-org upgrade. Couple of questions have arisen :
1. When we upgrade the NT4 domain and introduce a new E2K3 server into the
first Exchange 5.5 site, what will it look like in ESM? - We think a AG
and
RG per Exch 5.5 site (ie 8 x AG and 8 x RG). Is this correct ?
That is correct. |

one CA for the Exch Org? - we're really confused about this one.
You will have indeed an ADC per site, because you have the site-based |
administration feature of Exchange 5.5.

SP1. Will it allow us to move mailboxes from the Exch5.5 sites to the new
E2K3 server in a different site ?
Yes it will. You can in fact move a mailbox homed on an Exchange 5.5 server |
to an Exchange 2003 Sp1 server homed in another Administrative Group. Make
sure you have installed the hotfix on your Exchange 5.5 though.
