Exchange 5.5 Directory Services mailbox?

We have 5 Exchange 5.5 servers in our site. One of the systems is the main
user system with all the mailboxes on it and the others serve for Directory
replication and other services. The question being, if no Directory
replication connectors are homed to one of these servers should that system
still have a Directory Services mailbox? We are having some replication
delays and I just wanted to make sure this was not the problem. Thanks!
