I have an Exchange 2003 server setup and running. Recently we added a second
DSL ISP connection to allow for redundant connections to the internet.
Everything was great...... until........

We discovered that both of our providers require that mail be "sent" on
their SMTP server ONLY. Our router is a mutil-wan linksys RV016 and it does
load balancing automatically. So sometimes outgoing mail is sent on the
Connection #1 line, and sometimes mail is sent out on C #2 line.

Our Exchange server is set up with outgoing SMTP with C#1's SMTP settings.
So when mail gets balanced out to the second connection it goes with the C#1
smtp addressing..... gets rejected.. and is sent back undeliverable.

I need a solution that:
A. makes the Exchange server use the correct SMTP settings for the
connection it's using OR somehow masks outgoing messages so that both will
accept them.
B. Limits ALLL triffic on port 25 to one of the connections. (this sucks,
because if that connection goes down we loose the ability to send email, but
it will stop the mail from being "undeliverable" the rest of the time.)

I have read alot on MS website RE: multi-Homing. Which is what I think we
are trying to do, but none of it makes alot of sense to me.

Any help anyone can provide would be great.... Till then our new Backup ISP
connection is turned off.

Create 2 Connectors, one for each ISP, with different costs. The primary
will have the lowest cost. Send all mail out thar connector and interface.
If it goes down, then exchange will try the next highest cost connector.
Forget the load balancing....
