Hi all,

I recently had to rebuild one node in a two node cluster running Exchange
2000. I rebuilt the other node and it is able to see the SAN drives and is
talking to the other node successfully. I am able to fail the cluster group
over to this server, but the 2 Exchange groups that I have will not fail over
(a cluster resource is not available to perform this operation). Why can the
cluster group failover, but not the other groups? Does anyone have a
suggestion on where to start? All the settings look correct. Is there
anything else I need to do?

Thanks,
Marsha

Yes, you need to install the Exchange 2000 binaries on the new node along
with the service packs and appropriate patches to match your other node.

I have done that. The service pack level and patch level are the same. What
do you mean by binaries?

What

The application itself.

Have you tried moving just one Exchange group at a time? What do the logs
say?

I had a similar problem Marsha . . . It said that the other node was not
available. Be sure to check the properties of all you resources and make
sure they show both nodes as available for cluster operation.

HTH,
