Outlook Web Access - automatic login |
|
|
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but exchange.connectivity seemed
like a good place to start.
Earlier versions of OWA allowed automatic login by means of a "constructed"
URL, but OWA for Exchange 2003 doesn't seem to support this.
Is there any way that this is possible in OWA for Exchange 2003?
Any assistance gratefully received.
Best regards,
Mark

I don't think it's OWA 2003 that prevents this. I think it's due to a
recent IE patch:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834489
It looks like you can re-enable the older behaviour with a registry
entry.

Hi Lee,
I tried the registry stuff and still couldn't get it to work. I think the
problem is the slightly convoluted method that OWA 2003 uses at start up
whereby it seems to open one ASP page which then redirects to another then
to another, rewriting the URL each time. Certainly, if you pass any
querystring variables, they just get stripped off...

If you have Forms-based Authentication enabled then will have very little
chance of doing anything like this.
