Users from another doamain unable to recieve email |
|
|
We have an issue where users at an EOC test site are now unable to recieve
email from our central email system. They are able to send email to the
central email system.
They are in different domains and seperated by a firewall.
They lost connectivity when we removed the last remaining Exchange 5.5
servers that were performing the relay function for our site and replaced
them with Exchange 2003 servers. All other critical services are functioning
fine but for some reason we can't figure out why the site lost the ability to
recieve email.
Other users in our domain at the site are not experiencing a problem.
We would like some help in finding the place to allow email to be sent to
the EOC test site Exchange server, which is a Windows and Exchange 2000
server.
We were thinking of just adding another Address Space with the domain name
or creating a new SMTP connector.
Looking for the right solution.
Thanks

Are both sites part running Exchange and part of same Forest? If yes: no.
The servers are both running Exchange. Central Site is Exchange 2003 and EOC
site is Exchange 2000.
- Is the remote site in a separate Routing Group?
There sin't a routing group for the remote site, so the answer is yes.
- Does your central site have a Connector to deliver to the remote site?
Nope.
- Are the local and remote bridgeheads up?
Yep. We have changed the IP addresses under the General tab under the
Forward all mail section to the new bridgeheads. After this was done we were
able to send email to the Central site.
- Do both bridgeheads have smtp connectivity to each other and can resolve
each other's fqdn?
I was able to ping the servers from each other using there fqdn.

We created another connector that directed the EOC email to the correct Exchange server.
Problem solved. |
