Whenever my blackberry POPs my exchange account, it changes the status of the
messages to READ so they no longer show as unread in Outlook. Is there a way
to keep the messages showing in Outlook as unread even though they have been
read by the blackberry.

No - your Blackberry has indeed "read" the mail. I would avoid using POP for
this, anyway - if you don't have BES, try the desktop redirector, or the
'Blackberry web client" or whatever they call it now. However, your items
may still show up marked as read.

I am using the blackberry web client (POP3 access) which then sends the
messages to the blackberry device.

Ah. Well, then, you're set up as well as you can be, I guess. I don't even
remember off the top of my head whether the Blackberry Enterprise Server
setup does the same thing w/r/t read/unread mail, come to think of it.
