How can I determine who "owns" a particular email address without manually
pulling up every user account and public folder in the entire system? Is
there an AD/Exchange utility that lists all the email addresses and who they
belong?

You can do this through Active Directory User and Computers. Select Action,
Find.

This only appears to work for users, or perhaps I'm just not searching on the
correct field. How do I also include e-mail addresses used by public folders?

1. Bring up ADUC.
2. Make sure View / Advanced Features is set.
3. Go to the Microsoft Exchange System Objects Container.
4. Make sure you can see the E-Mail Address column in the right-hand pane.
If not, go to View / Choose Columns and add it in.
5. Now right-click the system object container and choose Export List

Or

You can use CSVDE.exe to export them.

Well, e-mail column only shows the primary e-mail address, not ALL the e-mail
addresses. Fortunately, CSVDE.EXE finally got me what I needed (plus the
kitchen sink). :) Have to add that to my list of tools.

However, it seems crazy to me to have to export the entire Active Directory
listing and perform a text search on it to find an e-mail address. Is there
no utility that will let me enter an e-mail address and tell me who it
belongs to? That is the most basic function of Exchange. If there's nothing
out there to do that, perhaps I should write such a utility, sell it for a
nickle, and retire whilst all the Exchange admins in the world send me shiny
new coins.

Thanks for the assistance John.

If you enter the SMTP address in a new e-mail message and press CTRL+K, does
it resolve to anything you find useful?
