HELP - broken connector |
|
|
I have a site to site routing group connector for exchange 2000 to a 2003
server
This was just an upgrade from 2000 to a 2000 server.
The routing group connector is failing.
For exchange 2003 to an exchange 2000 server do you still use routing group
connectors or do I need a smtp connector?

.... also make sure both servers can resolve and reach GCs
....is all mail in the queue for recipients in the other routing group only?

Connector). Stop and restart Routing Engine and SMTP svc. Does mail flow
through the new Connector?

That hasn't changed between 2000 and 2003.
Routing Group Connectors are preferred for connecting Routing Groups -
they still use SMTP transport.

Re: HELP - broken connector |

THANK YOU,
I get email going from my exchange 2003 server at my site to the 2000 server
at the other site.
However, the other sites email sits in the queue.
I checked dns, looks fine, I tested using fqdn
I deleted the old connector and created a new one.
Rebooted both servers.
I am rebooting the other one again after I forced replication.
I know we have another connector from my server to another domain and when I
moved to 2003 the other site had to add in authentication, that is an smtp
connector though. I guess that in 2003 that is new, you need authentication
where in 2000 it would just accept the email over the connector?
That is different though right, since that is an smtp connector and this is
just a routing group?
I have an error 951 in the event logs on the server that has the email
stuck.

Did you create the Connector both ways? (From RG-1 to RG-2, and from RG-2 to
RG-1?)
