SMTP Service is running => Port 25 is not responding !!! |

Hi NG,
What can that be...
the SMTP Service is running on my system (W2K3 + Exchange 2K3)
Also the exchange virtual SMTP Server is running.
I can send emails without any problem
But do not receive emails because
telnet srv01 25 => can not connect to the service.
No Errors in Eventlog.
netstat do not list any program listening to port 25
Do you have any idea about this...

Did you change the port? Did you make any changes?
Is this W2K3 SP1?

It is W2K3 SP1 with all patches installed (SBS)
I think that will be the last choice, when I don't find another solution.
Actually I tried to change the port number (to 2525) in the
windows/system32/drivers/etc/services file and then restarted the SMTP
Service but it also did not answered to telnet srv01 2525 ==> Maybe I had
additionally to change some values in the registry

Meanwhile I found out that SMTP is listening to port 26 (Why Ever)
The question is, if I can bring him to listen to port 25 again and if it
will have conflicts with Trend Micro

Changed the smtp Port from 26 to 25
At the moment everything seems 2 work
