1. An appointment created in Outlook and soft deleted in Outlook. When the
soft delete occurs, an OnSyncSave event is triggered with flags EVT_NEW_ITEM
for the new item in the Deleted Items folder. In addition, an OnSyncDelete
event is triggered with EVT_HARDDELETE and EVT_SOFTDELETE flags for the
original item in the Calendar folder.

2. An appointment created in Outlook and soft deleted in OWA. When the soft
delete occurs, an OnSyncSave event is triggered with flags EVT_MOVE for the
new item in the Deleted Items folder. In addition, an OnSyncDelete event is
triggered with no flags for the original item in the Calendar folder.

3. An appointment is both created and soft deleted in OWA. When the soft
delete occurs, an OnSyncDelete event is triggered with no flags for the
original item in the Calendar folder. However, no event is triggered for the
new item in the Deleted Items folder.

Why do soft deletes in Outlook behave differently than soft deletes in OWA?

Thanks, Eva

Different clients, different ways they delete stuff. You may also find a
different series of events using cached mode vs non-cached mode in Outlook.
