Has anyone ever been able to SYNC an IMAP account with a Exchange Server
account? I understand that you can download from an IMAP account (done
successfully), but what I want to do is SYNC with the IMAP, so when the
e-mail is read on the Exchange/Outlook side, it is marked as READ ONLY when
it is read in Outlook. Any ideas?

IMAP 'IS' a syncing solution You read something in your mail client
and the Send/Recieve goes and marks the server side item as read. You
delete it and then purge and the Send/Recieve function deletes it from
server side.

Any background to why you need to maintain a different view in Outlook
(why which I assume you mean MAPI) from another mail client that
you're accessing the Exchange server with via IMAP

Our voice messaging system saves the messages in a IMAP server, as e-mails
with wav files. I don't want to accounts in Outlook, just a single Exchange
account. If I could have the messages be "Sync'd" with Exchange, and when I
read them the Exchange server passes the "read--send/receive" information, I
would be a happy camper!

Can your voicemail system not be configured to send the messages to
Exchange?
There's no way to sync your IMAP data with your Exchange mailbox in Outlook.

Yes, we can have the voice mail do a manual SMTP forward, however, without
the IMAP portion, the voice messaging system can not turn off the message
waiting lamp on the phone (duplicate messages - voice mail and e-mail). With
IMAP, once the voice messaging server sees the IMAP "READ", it changes the
message status to "SAVED" and turns off the message waiting lamp on the phone.

Thanks
Neil

Sorry I can't offer more help. There's no way for you to sync IMAP account
data with your Exchange mailbox in the client even with two accounts, and if
you can't get the data directly into Exchange I'm not sure what else to
suggest. Perhaps the vendor has some other suggestions.
