Moving mailboxes or migrating |
|
|
See below for my earlier post of my scenario. My question is that in this
situation, is it better to use Exchange tasks from Active Directory Users
and computers to move the mailboxes to Exchange Server 2003 or is it better
to use the Exchange migration wizard?
I recently installed the first Exchange server 2003 (on server 2) in the
Exchange organization. The goal is to take the Exchange 2000 server (on
server 1) down and reconfigure the hardware, reinstall OS, and install
Exchange 2003. Then bring down server 2 (after moving the mailboxes and
other object back to server 1, and uninstalling Exchange from it).
Currently I still have Exchange 2000 server running on server 1. What
folders (or objects) do I need to synchronize or replicate before I take
down Exchange 2000 server. Also, will someone be able to point me to the
right direction of how to synchronize or replicate the two servers public
folders, system folers, and other objects that is necessary to remove the
Exchange 2000 from the organization.
The two servers are running Enterprise Edition of Exchange, and there is
only one organization and one site. Exchange 2000 is runing service pack 3
and Exchange 2003 is running service pack 2.
Thank you,
OD
