I have Exchange configured to notify my inbox of any non-deliverable messages
that occur.

The following message appeared in my INBOX today:

'username@domain.net' on 12/29/2005 10:08 AM
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance,
contact your system administrator.
<ExchangeServer.DOMAIN.AD #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 This system is configured
to reject mail from <IP ADDRESS> (DNS reverse lookup failed)>

I received three NDRs. They were all the result of an email to three users
on the same domain. I am trying to determine from the above message where
the "reject" came from. Is the message being rejected by my internal
exchange server or by the remote mail system where the mail recipient is
located?

If you have any information regarding this issue, it would be greatly
appreciated!

Sincerely,
Brian Nobles

It's being rejected by the remote server, but your Exchange server is
responsible for delivering the NDR because the e-mail was never delivered to
the remote system.

Contact the admin of the remote domain and find out which RBL's they are
using. Then you get to figure out why you got blacklisted and how to get
off. That's the fun part.
